Online property portal PropertyGuru Group Asia has appointed Malcolm Fitzgerald as chief product and technology officer (CPTO), effective 27 January 2016.
In this role, Fitzgerald will lead PropertyGuru’s approximately 100 product, user experience and engineering staff across the Group’s offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
As CPTO, he will be responsible for continuity in product development, quality assurance and production support. Fitzgerald will also identify opportunities and risks for PropertyGuru’s online businesses, drive the company’s innovation efforts and establish software development and production support processes across the region.
Prior to joining PropertyGuru Group, Fitzgerald served as chief technology officer for ANATAS, an Australia-based IT architecture and engineering consultancy. He brings with him a track record of over 13 years of technical leadership, mobile and product design, delivering information technology solutions within the financial services, utilities, construction and telecommunications sectors in Australia. He is also the co-founder of four successful entrepreneurial businesses.

Most recently, PropertyGuru bought over the real estate media businesses from Ensign Media, a publishing company headquartered in Singapore. The purchase includes Property Report, a regional luxury property and lifestyle magazine and website that publishes news and insights on such investment destinations.
