Microsoft Hong Kong has unveiled 21 new Windows tablets to target local customers looking for tablets in the HK$1,000-2,000 price range.

"The tablet is not new but the market has always had space for products of a certain price range," Horace Chow, general manager at Microsoft Hong Kong said.

"There are many tablets available above the HK$2,000 price point but we found that not many products are competing in the HK$1,000-2,000 category of tablets, representing a gap in the market."

The batch of new tablets is part of Microsoft's plans to fill up this space.

The tablets were manufactured by 11 ODM and OEM brands, including Taiwanese manufacturer PiPO, and mainland Chinese brands LiveFan and Onda.
