Dentsu Media has hired Nutchanun Chiaphanumas as its first ever executive creative director.
Chiaphanuma will be leading the creative efforts for the 11 year old Bangkok based media agency. Chiaphanuma most recently worked as group creative director for Ogilvy & Mather Beijing. Prior to that, he had stints at agencies like Leo Burnett Hong Kong, BBDO Bangkok and McCann Erickson Thailand.
Dentsu Media Thailand CEO Mitsuyuki Nakamura, who was recently appointed president for Dentsu Media Southeast Asia, said: “With the rapid growth of our content business unit we have been expanding our creative capabilities. We established our Content Ideation and Acquisition (CIA) division to expand communication opportunities for our clients. Bringing on Chiaphanuma to lead our creative efforts, not just for our content divisions but for all the Dentsu Media Thailand brands, is one more step on this journey.”
Nakamura added that Dentsu Media Thailand’s clients are now increasingly looking beyond traditional media solutions.
“I realise that transferring to a media agency might be considered an unusual move by some”, Chiaphanuma (pictured) said.
“Nakamura is thinking outside the box and is not constrained by traditional borders between creative and media. He wants to solve his clients’ problems – whichever way possible – and bringing on a creative was a logical next step for his agency.”
