SPRING Singapore has appointed POSSIBLE Worldwide as its social media agency. The appointment is for one year and will see the agency undertaking social media management duties for the organisation. The tender was first called on Gebiz in December last year and saw five other agencies competing for the account.
According to Gebiz, the agencies are Formul8, Happy Marketer, IH Singapore, Novus Media Solutions and Techlyon. Most recently, SPRING Singapore was handed investigative and enforcement powers on unscrupulous retailers following new amendments to the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA).
The enforcement powers allowed SPRING to gather evidence against persistent errant retailers, file injunctions with the courts and enforce compliance with court orders. This was in a bid to better safeguard consumer interest.
Last year, Possible Singapore made several appointments. This included the promotion of Pei Pei Ng to chief creative officer for the APAC region, in addition to leading the Singapore office. The agency also hired Malcolm Wild as chief technology officer, heading the technology services from their regional HQ in Singapore. Wild was formally THE CTO for Razorfish EMEA and managing director (APAC) for ecommerce system integrator Sceneric.
In August, it also brought on board Gerard Lim as its new managing director. Lim joined from SPRING Singapore where he was the principal assessor, specialising in business excellence framework for high growth industries. He has over 25 years of experience in advertising and digital marketing and was charged with driving growth, collaboration, optimisation and innovation. However, earlier this year, the agency also made cuts to its team, which affected 12 out of 97 people.
